So you move out of your town because of a mandatory flood evacuation. You gather up all that is important to you–cats and things to write with and clean underwear. And you think, “Wow, with all this time not working, I will get a lot of writing done.”
I moved out of my mom’s place to get my writing life in gear. Coming back has been challenging because the same distractions and lifestyle (brother) hindrances are still here. I think I’ll try to go draft at a high and dry place somewhere…
I wish I could offer more advice on blocking out the challenging environmental factors but today, I’m spent.
I will say that daily writing is as essential as eating breakfast or putting deodorant on. The act of non-writing, whatever it may be, makes me grumpy.
